Eh, kejap! It’s almost 2023 ke? Whoa, that’s crazy! Sebenarnya, the past twelve months have surely been one heck of a roller-coaster ride for many of us, kan? Well, as the French always say, “C’est la vie.Pejam celik, pejam celik… here we are.

As we prepare to bid farewell to 2022 and say a big hello to another round of 365 days, sure punyalah ada antara kita tengah plan some kind of New Year’s Eve party. Ada yang fikir gatherings with club-like atmospheres complete with bottomless drinks and wild moves on the dance floor while they wait for the clock to strike midnight (you know, parti sampai pagi!). But for others, this is the perfect time to further enrich that special connection with their beloved family members and friends through all sorts of activities.

1. Nutritious Food

Any kind of party would be unacceptable and insane (or as Agnes Monica puts it best, “tak ada logika!”) if it didn’t include a variety of foods. So, it doesn’t necessarily mean your menu can’t include delectable selections which happen to be healthy too, kan? So, why don’t you try creating some interesting organic-based snacks made of fresh ingredients? By avoiding artificial and sugary additives, it would be a great opportunity for you to show that healthy, or organic snacks can be sedap gila and nutritive. As for desserts, you can never go wrong with naturally-sweet fruits. Uff, dah musim harum manis ke belum?

2. Refreshing Drinks

Instead of intoxicating booze, how about some tasty mocktails? Other than being a much better choice for your health, they also can be such a great way to jimat duit juga (you do realise just how expensive those liquors are, betul tak?). From iced tea, to cold-pressed juices, and even sparkling water (mesti lah ada), all you need is a few fresh ingredients, which are the secret to making these delish drinks. Jab, kita belum habis lagi. For that extra kick, just add chia seeds, mint, or even a slice of your favourite citrus fruit, and there you go! Everyone can chug down on nourishing refreshments without worrying about losing consciousness afterward… atau risau nak drive balik rumah.

3. Brain Teasing Games

If you’re putting together a New Year’s Eve party, organising some games is a fantastic way to get everyone to mingle. They’re also a good method to kill off some time. Your guests will be kept on their toes with amusing trivia and questions, especially if you offer elusive holiday items as rewards (macam smart watch ke). If they’re not into board games such as Scrabbles or Monopoly, maybe you could alternatively provide card games like UNO (Fuhh! Gerenti meriah!). Whatever it is, these kinds of activities keep people’s minds active and awake. In the end, they’ll surely feel entertained, which is exactly what a fun party is supposed to be. 

4. Fun Exercises

What better way to get into the hype of the New Year’s Eve countdown than turning your guests’ excitement into something physically beneficial, right? After indulging yourself with lots of dishes and beverages, you can now use the remaining time to transform your party area into a mini workout zone. Nanti dulu! Jangan mengeluh. Obviously, it doesn’t have to be intense (unless you sengaja nak the others to throw up, lah). Something as simple as a few yoga moves or just some casual aerobic exercises would be enough to keep them awake and energetic. Kalau dah payah sangat, just turn up the music, and lo behold, most of them would start doing freestyle dancing right away. As long as they stay active throughout the night, that should be fine. Tak ada lah orang tiba tiba start yawning.

So, that’s basically it! Tak susah pun kan? Percayalah, your guests will appreciate the effort you went through to keep the party healthy, and safe without compromising their safety, and well-being. Silap silap kan, they might even leave your party feeling better than when they arrived.
